| Some of things you can do is run your hands over the rat feeling for lumps, bumps, and scabs. If the rat has any of the above mentioned, he or she is probably unhealthy. Also look for a rough coat and cloudy eyes. |

| separated for approximately two weeks. Rats can transmit upper respiratory infections to each other. |

| parasites and mites. It is a good idea when acquiring a new pet to have it checked for good health. We recommend keeping new reptiles separated from other reptiles you may have until you can get a clean bill of health. Mites are highly contagious to your other reptiles. |
